Instructions valid for the following lenses: Planar 50/1.7 AEJ Sonnar 85/2.8 AEJ Sonnar 100/3.5 AEJ |
This is the Contax Planar 50/1.7 AEJ lens, It looks like the MM version , but there are three differences: - the 16 number at the aperture ring is white. - there is not a plastic tab at the base of the mount. - the screws are at different positions. |
So we made a special mount for it. To install the Leitax mount, we have first to remove the screws at the base of the lens mount. |
In some units, the screws could be cemented, It is important to apply a lot of
pressure on the screw so that it will not get damaged. I put the lens flat on the table to apply more force | |
See in the picture that the original mount was not displaced while we were unscrewing the screws, you can see that the holes of the mount coincide with the holes of the lens barrel. |
It is important not to move the mount while it is not secured with screws. Now, we have to put the Leitax mount on top of the Contax one, and use the provided screws on the four holes. Tighten the screws in cross pattern and a bit one after another. |
Unfortunately, these lenses have one of the screws that coincide with the Canon's mount stop screw. The screwdriver is not working perfectly, but still you can tighten it quite well. |
Ready, we
can use these three AEJ Contax lenses on our Canon camera in a rock-solid way. |
