Hello, I've received questions about how to put the Dandelion chip for Canon in program mode, this is how I do it:

-- First, set your camera as follows:

    -EV steps to 1/3
    -Exposure mode to M
    -Shutter speed to 11 seconds or more
    -Set the camera to AI Servo mode, to avoid that the shutter would be blocked if not in focus.

-- Now, with the camera powered and the chipped lens in place, Turn the lens as if you were going to remove it , to separate the Dandelion chip from the contacts (the camera will display aperture "0.0"). And turn the lens again in place to make Dandelion recover the contact. Within 3 seconds starting from that moment you will have to press the shutter release button with the shutter time to 11 seconds or more.


-- After the exposure finishes, Dandelion will enter the program mode. Now put the dial in Av mode. As you turn the control wheel, the aperture will change from F3.5 to F11, this way you will select the program mode and the values to program.

--Now, to make the chip to save a F value, you have to choose F4 and take a picture, then the display will allow you to select between F1.0 and F64, just select the value that you wish to save ( usually the max. aperture of your lens) and take a picture, that F value will be recorded in the chip and it will exit the program mode.

--And, to save a Focal Length in the chip, you have to put the chip again in program mode, but, after this,  you will select F5.6 and take a picture, now the chip will still offer to select between F3.5 to F11, but now these F values mean  the numbers that you can see at the table above . Just select one and take a picture five times, for example, if your lens is a 135mm, you have to select 00135, that means, F4 and shot, F4 and shot, F4.5 and shot, F5.6 and shot, F7.1 and shot.
The chip will save 135mm and will leave the program mode.


-- Also, it is interesting to switch the chip to MF mode if you are using the lens in low light conditions, because the chip needs enough light to allow focus confirmation; and it will block the shutter if it is in AF mode (by default) and there is no focus confirmation.
To switch the chip to MF mode, you have to put it in program mode like it is explained before, and just take a picture selecting the F9.0 value, the same operation will switch it again to AF.

-- When the chip is in AF mode, you have to select ONE SHOT in the camera AF menu to have the focus confirmation working.

Hola, he recibido preguntas acerca de cómo poner el chip Dandelion para Canon en el modo de programa, así es como lo hago:

- En primer lugar, ajusta la cámara de la siguiente manera:

    
-EV a 1 / 3

-Velocidad de obturación de 11 segundos o más
    
-Ponga la cámara en el modo AI Servo, para evitar que el disparador se bloquee si no está el objetivo enfocado.

Antes de 3 segundos a partir de ese momento tienes que pulsar el botón disparador con el tiempo de disparo a 11 segundos o más.

- Una vez finalizada la exposición, el chip entrará en el modo de programación. Ahora pon el dial en el modo Av.
A medida que giras la rueda de control, la apertura cambiará de F3.5 a F11, de esta manera se selecciona el modo de programa y los valores a programar.

- Ahora, para hacer que el chip guarde un valor de Apertura, hay que elegir F4 y tomar una foto, a continuación, la pantalla le permitirá seleccionar entre F1.0 y F64, sólo tienes que seleccionar el valor que desees ( normalmente la máxima apertura de la lente) y  tomar una foto, que el valor de F será grabado en el chip y éste saldrá del modo de programa.

- Y, para guardar una distancia focal en el chip, tienes que poner el chip de nuevo en el modo de programa, pero, después de esto, deberás seleccionar F5.6 y tomar una foto, ahora el chip seguirá ofreciendo para seleccionar entre F3 0,5 a F11, pero ahora estos valores F significan los números que puedes ver en el cuadro anterior. Sólo tienes que seleccionar uno y tomar una foto en cinco ocasiones, por ejemplo, si su objetivo es un 135 mm, tienes que seleccionar 00135, es decir, F4 y disparo, F4 y disparo, F4.5 y disparo, F5.6 y disparo, F7.1 y  disparo.
El chip gravará 135mm  y saldrá del modo de programa.
