We sell replacement mounts to use Leica-R lenses on Pentax, Nikon, Sigma, Canon and Sony cameras.
Welcome to Leitax, a site dedicated to make our cameras even more
enjoyable. My name is David Llado and I
would like to
present you a new lens mount designed to use the Leica-R lenses on your
camera.
This project started when, at our company, which is located near Barcelona, in Catalonia, Spain, we used a Pentax mount to adapt my camera to a binocular magnifier. I have been a Pentax user for 30 years ( K2, still with me ), and this idea came to my mind, if we could use this mount to adapt more lenses on my Pentax bodies.
After some research, the best candidates were the legacy Leica
R-mount lenses, needless to mention the quality of those lenses, and
they can be obtained easily from ebay and other sites, also Leica
owners would like to use their beloved lenses on modern SLR
or DSLR bodies.
Until now, only Canon and Olympus users can shoot with Leica lenses by means of an adapter. These adapters are more convenient than disassemble lenses and change bayonets, but some have problems. Mostly the cheaper ones have uneven plating thickness and fail getting a solid adjustment, and the most important, those are not for Pentax, Nikon or Sigma cameras.

-A Leica lens solid on
your camera as any Pentax lens. -Your camera will meter in Av and M
mode.
-Focus confirmation in the viewfinder.
-Image stabilization in the newest Pentax
bodies.
-Diaphragm ring detents that will "click" like the original bayonet.
I have the K20D, but I think the settings are similar on other models: in the Custom Setting menu, go to "Using aperture ring" and set "permitted". This way, your camera will work and meter in Av mode with adapted lenses.

Of course, the Leica lenses will focus to infinity on Pentax
cameras. After checking many models produced for several
decades
in three countries, we found differences at the point they focus to
infinity, so our bayonet is measured to focus to infinity with all of
them.
Thus, maybe some units will reach even beyond infinity, in
this case turning back the focusing ring just half millimeter is enough.
The conversion is fully reversible and will not damage the lens nor the camera. We have already tried all the Leica lenses in the list, as more models will be checked, we will add them to our instructions section.

With certain models, we'll have to manipulate inside the lens, it's not a good place for something metallic. With this plastic tool I don't make any scratches in the Leica or Zeiss lenses. |

I use this model for all the Phillips screws in the Leica and Zeiss lenses, it is industrial grade quality made by Irazola, and the design is very good, you can push and turn it firmly with the rotary end and the rubber finish. |

This one is for the small black screws at the Leica's lens rear shroud. Unfortunately, Irazola doesn't produce a size for the bayonet flat screws founded in older Leica lenses. |

But, if you want the best, I can offer now the OP/TECH
USA Pentax-K cap. -It has a rubber O-Ring that seals the lens from dust and moisture. -The O-ring also forms tight friction, it will avoid losing the cap. -It covers the entire bayonet diameter, providing more protection against blows and scratches. |
